Joy in doing meditative art.

When we think of meditation we think of sitting cross legged on a pillow hands in a perfect centering mudra on our laps while we pay attention to our breathing.


I also think that movement like dancing and arts and crafts can be meditative. The only requirement is that you step away from your jobs and into your hobbies, your art, your music. You step into the things you love to do, that you do just for you, where your mind goes to places where time is irrelevant and not acknowledged.


I think about love, life and death while I tie dye a shirt or draw, or take pictures of beautiful things in my environment. I hope you will do something similar and experience the joy of meditative art for yourself. As long as you are taking a moment to give total attention to something that you love doing and allowing yourself to daydream, you are contributing to a more joyful peaceful world.
